Day Camp: Leadership |
Mo-Ranch Outdoor Adventure Day Camp strives to provide your child with a safe and fun-filled experience. We also work hard to provide parents peace of mind knowing your children will be under the care and supervision of trained Counselors. Amber Thomas, Day Camp Director, has been in the camping industry since 1997. Amber first came to Mo-Ranch in 1990 as a summer retreat participant, and, beginning in 2006, she joined the staff as a facilitator for the Environmental Leadership Program and the Assistant Director for the Summer Camp. After moving to Iowa for a year and a half, Amber returned to Mo-Ranch where she loves acquainting children with the natural world around them-in creative and fun ways! Amber holds certifications in American Red Cross Emergency Response, CPR, Lifeguarding, and is a certified Challenge Course Manager. In addition, Amber is a Standards Visitor for the American Camping Association (ACA), completed the ACA Basic Camp Director Course, and is an ACA Conference Presenter.
Additional Day Camp Counselors will be assisting Amber. These Counselors are selected for their friendliness, their sense of responsibility, their maturity and their character. Counselors will receive specific training in areas such as child behavior management, age level expectations, safety and emergency procedures, as well as certifications in First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding. Certified Lifeguards will be on duty during all aquatic activities and a Camp Health Manager will be on site and available in case of illness or injury.
