Retreat Leader: Nathan Foster
Nathan Foster joined the Renovaré team as Director of Teaching Ministries in 2012. He is a sought after speaker and teaches across the United States on Christian living. He also has a musical side and plays bass in the band Christy and the Professors. Foster holds a master’s degree in social work and is licensed in clinical social work. He is also a level III certified addictions counselor, professor of social work and was named 2012 teacher of the year at Spring Arbor University.Author of Wisdom Chaser: Finding My Father at 14,000 Ft., the book chronicles the physically demanding climb Nathan and his father Richard took with no previous hiking or climbing experience. Along the journey, Nathan discovered himself and who his father really was. Through the challenging hike, he found himself opening up to grace and love. Currently, Nathan resides in Michigan with his wife and two children where he teaches, enjoys being a family man, and works on writing.
Retreat Leader: Rachel Quan
With a combination of administrative and creative skills, Rachel Quan joined the Renovaré USA team at the beginning of 2012 as Executive Director after many years of working in both ministry and business. She began in vocational ministry in 1998, joining the adult education staff of First Presbyterian Church of Houston, teaching, developing leadership, and organizing various conferences and events. After a few years at FPC she became Houston Executive Festival Director for the Luis Palau Association. Rachel’s business career includes large event management and production, non-profit consulting, and most recently serving as the Vice President of External Operations for the 2011 NCAA Men’s Final Four and as Executive Director for the Greater Houston Restaurant Association. Her experience in the realms of ministry and business are what she draws upon as she carries out the mission of Renovaré.
Worship/Music Leader: Jeff Johnson
Born in 1956, Jeff began experimenting with making his own recordings at an early age. After graduating from Portland State University in 1978, he began devoting his attention to Ark Studios and established ArkMusic, which has been home to every Jeff Johnson project since 1977. Johnson is a versatile musician, and has collaborated in a number of distinct projects over the course of his discography, including: Instrumental Fantasy, Celtic and Sci-fi inspired works. Jeff's latest project is Antiphon. The title is a Latin word for a psalm, chant or hymn responsively sung in worship. The recording is a mix of sacred, classical, ambient and Celtic inspired music.
