WWII: The Pacific Theatre - The History, On the Home Front, New Hope and Era of the Big Band
Step into history for a multi-faceted look at the Pacific Theater battles of WWII, Japanese-American perspectives of the war, and explore the expanding role of women on the home front. Enjoy engaging class studies, discussion and field study at the National Museum of the Pacific War, the Admiral Nimitz Museum and Japanese Garden of Peace, plus the Gallery of the Presidents honoring those who served in WWII. Delve into the Big Band music of the era from the perspective of the audience, composer/arranger, and band leader. Rediscover the delightful music of Dorsey, Shaw, Miller, Goodman and more.
